Ketevan has graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts with a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design (2005-2009). Ketevan has been developing her craft as a designer and artist for over 10 years. She collaborates with online galleries such as “Wally.Gallery” and “Novo Gallery.” According to her, her connection to art began at an early age. As a painter, she works in watercolor to capture the simplicity of everyday life, the sense of transience, and feelings of solitude. The source of her creativity is the Soviet-era suburban gray apartment blocks where she lives, once referred to as a “sleeping district.”
“Among the monumental, time-frozen buildings, the thousands of rusted objects for sale in the courtyards, the crushed garages, and the old iron kiosks filled with second-hand clothes leave me with a sense of impermanence. In the evenings, the yellow-lit windows remind me of solitude, locked behind concrete walls in the sleeping district. By painting the details discovered in these seemingly faceless spaces, I convey those human emotions that connect us all,” she says.
