Nini Jaliashvili

Nini Jaliashvili is 20 years old, living in Tbilisi. She has completed her secondary education and is currently in her third year studying a bachelor’s degree in Film and Television Art at the Academy of Arts. Since childhood, she has loved cinema and was interested in its deeper aspects, its inner workings, which led her to pursue this field. She became even more certain of her passion when she worked as a film artist on student films. However, working in advertising disillusioned her. She eventually realized that pursuing cinema in the current state of the country would be absurd, so she prioritized what truly resonated with her—painting and art in general. Over the past year, she has taken painting seriously. Stylistically, she doesn’t feel she follows a specific style; her works are more figurative-abstract, where she constantly discovers new things during the process or in the final result. It’s complex and intriguing. Where she is, where she will be, who she is, who she will become—everything is uncertain for her, making it difficult to summarize in a biography. She knows this sounds generic, but she cannot limit herself to such definitions.
